Holograph, signed
Seven boxes have been sent from the inhabitants of Bridgwater for the Boston Anti-Slavery Bazaar. The contributions have mostly been prepared since "and indeed in consequence of" the visit of Frederick Douglass, who lectured in Bridgwater. "At his suggestion, we are sending a letter from our town to Bridgwater in America, of which I will enclose a copy. Frederick Douglass visited Lucy Browne's minister, Mr. Russell Carpenter, and he was also at her father's house. Frederick Douglass left behind "warm feelings of friendship."
